  • QOTD

For those confused, that's Quote of the Day not Question.

I went to my friend Alex's with Kelli for the afternoon to play video games and hang out.  We went to see Paranormal Activities afterwards.  It was alright.  I'd say wait til it's out on DVD but unless you have a nice sound system, it's not worth it.  The subs really help add to the effect.

Anyway, while we were playing Raving Rabbids 2, Drew's (Alex's younger sister) friend Devin came over.  I didn't notice that he walked in the room until Kelli turned around and was shocked that Drew had turned into a boy ... and black.  When Drew came back into the room she said to me and Devin,

"Hey, you guys look alike.  You could be brothers."

Alex and Kelli were rollin.  I was a little shocked and not sure what to say but it fell off with ease and joined the laughter.  Drew sat dumbfounded, not knowing what was so funny, and that's the beauty of the whole thing.

While she was looking at our similar skin colors, I don't think she meant it in an offending way.  Unless, of course, she's just a racist but somehow I don't that's right. lol.

A child's mind is a very wonderful thing.

  • Everybody In The Club Getting Tipsy

I turned 21 last week on Tuesday just in time to go the club on the weekend.  My friend Tony was modeling in the Miami Vice fashion Show called Rehab for the Fashion Addict.  A designer named Nancy Dominguez was launching her spring swimwear 2010 collection.

Tony's the one on the far left with the glasses.

I wanted to go show my support so on Saturday my friend Josh and I got suited up (sort of) and hit the club called eArly birD's (only time I'll type it like that) in Fort Wayne.  This was my first time to a club and I had a great time.

Note to readers that don't know me:  Before Tuesday, I had never consumed an alcoholic beverage in my life.  I didn't feel anything from the drinks I had that night, nor did I want to.  Friday, the night before the show, I had some drinks with some friends and I wasn't aiming to get trashed, but I kinda did.  One of the girls there, who knows a thing or two about drinks, tricked me into drinking a shot of straight Bicardi 151!  I was fine before that, but then I was gone.  Threw up twice and needless say, I learned my limit quick.

So back to the club.  We rolled up looking fly and having never been to a club, had no idea what to really do.  So we looked around briefly and decided to get a drink.  Justin, a mutual friend of me and Josh, told him that he should buy my a Blow Job.  It was a tasty little shot that I had to consume with out the use of my hands. I succeeded and got some whipped cream all over my mouth region.  I guess that's the point, but I don't care, cuz it was yummy. :)

I ordered something that I couldn't really taste the alcohol in and the bartender gave me a green drink that tasted like gross.  I finished it since I had paid for it.  It was time for the show and it was pretty cool.  After the show we got some more drinks.  Josh ordered a rum and coke and I tried a screwdriver--sucked.  I think it was the orange juice to vodka ratio.  So I gave to my friend Brandon who was also in the show.

I then met up with the crew from B-Dubs.  It was one of my co-worker's birthday and they were meeting at Early Birds later in the night.  I saw so many people and when I found where they were stationed, Jiggy (another co-worker) said that I was with them tonight.  Everybody was so surprised to see me, which makes sense.  Jiggy hooked me up with another screwdriver, which tasted a little better.  Me and my Tex were getting down a little.  A little bit later, I got myself a rum and coke, which I actually liked and while drinking that, Serena, another co-worker, grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor.  At first I wasn't sure what to do, cuz it was my first time.  But once I started feeling the music I put my hand on her waste and we were grindin' for a while. (Don't be mad, Kelli! :p)

That's what they do at the club, right? Grind?  Anyway...

Josh comes up to me while I'm still on the dance floor and shows me a text that he got from Tony that said, "VIP."  So, of course, we went and I had some pizza and a shot of goose (gross).  After that shot I was feeling it a little.  At that point, I told myself I wasn't drinking anymore, because the night before I wanted just enough to feel good.  Since that didn't happen, I decided that I'd do it this night.  I went outside to get some fresh air and called Kelli.  That actually sobered me up a little.  When I was ready I went back in.  The rest of the time at the club was "meh" but I still had fun.  Played some pool with Tony and just chilled for the rest of the night.

The club closed at 3 and we ended leaving with a guy named Dan, who was part of the show.  We decided to go to IHOP.  I was down with it, but I really wanted to just be home and in bed.  Turns out that Josh can drink beer like water but can't really handle his liquor.  He was gone.  I offered him bacon and he refused.  WHO REFUSES BACON!?!?  So I get some delicious blueberry pancakes with eggs, bacon and hash browns.  And while we're eating, I see Josh throwing up on the table.

"Tony!  Tony, look," is what I said while pointing at Josh.  It was bad.  Lucky for us that he wasn't doing a lot of moving or it would have gone everywhere.  We make Josh clean most of it up and depart.  I finally made it home, not drunk or even buzzed by that time, and that's how I wanted it.  The end to a good night out.

Kinda long, I know.  Thanks for reading.

  • Designer for Buffalo Wild Wings: Part 2

In case you don't know, I have designed two manuals for the Buffalo Wild Wings that I work at.  The first one, which you can download here, is about urinal mints.  The second one, which is here, is about portioning.  For those that don't know, when it comes to BWW cashier portioning, I'm talking about the little cups of ranch, bleu cheese, etc.

Apparently, Brandon Jones, the owner's son, saw them and liked a LOT.  So much, in fact, that he sent them to the corporate office and then had them sent to all of the stores that his dad owns.  I work at one in Indiana and they were sent to about 5 or six more in the state and then some in Virginia.   He can't wait to see the next one I make.  He even mentioned that it might be something I could be doing for him.  I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty excited about it.

Hopefully something awesome will come out of all this.  I love designing and if I can make money doing it, then I'll be a happy camper.

    Thanks for reading.

  • On Getting Effed Up: Part 2

I turned 21 yesterday, and I'd like to think that it actually had some significance. Most people under the age of 21 that I come into contact with have already drank. I remember all the high school parties that I didn't go to that had alcohol at them. Some of my close friends drank or had at least tried some drinks.

I decided that I'd wait. I'm not sure if there is another reason, but I know it was mostly because I was afraid of getting drunk. My dad was an alcoholic. He might still be actually; I'm not sure. What I do know is that I didn't like the result of his constant drinking. My mother and siblings didn't like it either. We all came to resent him for most of the things he did. I was not going to allow myself to become what he did.

So I waited. Yesterday, I had my first drinks courtesy of my friend Casey from work and Josh, one of my managers. I'm actually proud that I waited. It probably doesn't mean much to a lot of people, because it seems like everyone drinks. I'll take pride in it if no one else will.

I still like seeing people's faces when they hear that I've never had a drink in my life ... until now. :)

    Thanks for reading.
